Anne Beresford
Anne Beresford is an independent film and television producer. Her films often involve international collaborations and co-productions, working with both established and emerging talents. She is known for her work in dance, music and arts films as well as in drama and documentary. Anne co-runs Artemisia Films.
Recent credits include the BAFTA Cymru winning feature film CHUCK CHUCK BABY (BFI/BBC Film/Ffilm Cymru) set in and around a chicken factory in industrial North Wales and the short film DELIVERANCE (BFI/Film4) about a young deaf girl which premiered at Dinard Film Festival.
SWAN LAKE BATH BALLET (BBC), which won the Prix Italia web award, was set in the filled bathtubs of 27 elite ballet dancers around the world, filmed entirely remotely. Anne also produced the landmark film of Britten’s opera PETER GRIMES ON ALDEBURGH BEACH filmed on the very beach on which it was set.
Documentaries range from the Rose d’Or nominated profile of composer JUDITH WEIR (Channel 4) to trainhopping across North America in TRAIN ON THE BRAIN (Channel 4/TVOntario).
Anne is a member of Ateliers du Cinéma Européen and a graduate of EAVE and Bristol University. She was a director of the prestigious Wapping Project Art Space and restaurant for many years and Chaired the Camden Music Hub Steering Group. She is a director of the Orbit Cinema in her hometown of Wellington, Shropshire.
